Plans for Raku 43 and Raku 48 are complete, comprehensive and available for sale now. Study Books and Project Books in in preparation and we expect to have them available before the end of October. Contact us for current pricing for either or both of these designs. graingerdesigns@gmail.com

Both designs provide a range of options included in the plans at no extra cost. These options include longeron or conventional catwalk and forebeam, mini keels or daggerboards, various layout options, helm station aft or on the bulkhead, and more.

What's in a set of Plans for a Modern Multihull?

Building our designs on comprehensive electronic models gives us the flexibility to provide electronic machine files for routing panels, 5 axis machining of components or 3D printing, all technologies that are increasingly being used so speed manufacture and improve accuracy.

We take pride in the way our boats look, the way they sail and the functionality of the decks and the living spaces. But all of these features are designed with ease of construction and economy of materials playing a significant role in the mix that makes up the final design.

The Raku cats are no exception. They incorporate modern style above the waterline with efficient round bilge hulls for minimum wetted area and optimum performance. In this series of images we show the assembly sequence for the Raku 43.



Panel Construction


Panels are made by laminating the foam and glass (or carbon) under vaccuum or by infusion and then cutting the panels to shape using templates or direct CNC machining from the cutting files we supply.

All of the designs you see on our web site are built by these methods.

Panel kits are available from suppliers including ATL Composites in Australia and VDL in Germany.
